ACO using recorderman technique for drums

Never shy of entereing new territory, ACO threw its 12 mike drum set out of the window (actually, down the stairs, since there are no windows in our practice room) and recorded the drum kit for the “Artist Song” album with only two mikes, using the innovative recorderman technique (see video below). On the left you can see Andreas Schlaegel, professionally measuring the distances of the microphone membranes, avoiding any flanging effects through wrong phasing (Reverse phases? Don’t know what it’s called). It sounds awsome. “Fresh”, Schlaegel adds. Wait and see. To be released end of 2007.
